Cambridge Women 4 Technology Event

1May 14th saw the 10th anniversary of the Bailey Fisher Women 4 Technology forum event, this year looking at the topic of artificial intelligence and centred on the theme of 'The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on the Future of Artificial Intelligence'.

Many inspirational speakers from technology, business and science attended, including Anthony Finbow from Eagle Genomics. Other speakers included Professor Rose Luckin, a world-renowned expert on the use of AI in education; Dr Kanta Dihal, who is conducting cutting edge research at Cambridge's Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence and the Q&A session was moderated by Dr Matthew Howard, AI lead at Deloitte and former European Lead at IBM Watson Healthcare.2

Anthony commented, "I was delighted and honoured to have been invited by Ann to speak at the event, in support of such an important cause"

The panel of experts led a discussion about the importance of diversity in the workplace when creating artificial intelligence systems that can accurately reflect the lives of the individuals that will be affected.

Bailey Fisher Women 4 Technology event was born from the ambition to inspire women and encourage diversity within technology and business.

Women 4 Technology 2018 was held in support of 2 chosen charities: Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide; and See Change Films, which believes in the power of film for positive social change.
